The Shirt Tail Stompers
The Shirt Tail Stompers are rightly regarded as one of Europe's hottest social dance bands. Formed in 2010 for the London Lindy Exchange and led by drummer Steve Coombe, they have performed at dance camps and shows in over 25 countries around the world. With their passion for swing and their deep understanding and experience of dance, they are definitely the band to dance to in 2023.
They appreciate the "art of swing" and know its historical place. They are strongly influenced by Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie and many other greats of the swing and trad jazz era of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
The Declan Forde Trio feat. Mette Nadja Hansen will play the finest and most danceable old school jazz from the era of Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald. Declan Forde, originally from Glasgow, has been living in Berlin since 2014 and is considered one of the essential pianists in the vibrant Berlin jazz scene. As a composer and pianist, he brings his virtuoso and original musical signature to many different projects and formations (Greg Cohen, James Benner and many others). He plays traditional as well as modern jazz and improvisation.
After working in Denmark and Sweden, the Danish jazz singer Mette Nadja Hansen moved to Berlin in 2013, where she can be heard in a wide range of musical settings in various jazz formations, with sound installations, in music theatre and as a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
